Strawberry Pie
This Strawberry Pie recipe is the only you’ll ever make, because it is so easy and delicious, fuss and hassle free! Takes hardly 20 mins to prepare. The foolproof method is going to yield a beautiful, and delectable pie every single time.
The crust is made with a quick recipe, it’s crispy and flakey. It is easy to work with, and you can easily make any pie deaign you want easily with it.
The filling is very basic, just strawberries with a dash of sugar and lime juice, and once baked, they burst out delicious juices, and you have one amazingly looking beautiful dessert on your table in no time.
Although you can enjoy this pie as it is, i recommend eating it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Hot pie topped with vanilla ice cream, this is what winter dreams are made of! So here is how to make it!

Ingredients for Strawberry Pie
Crust
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chilled butter cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/4 tsp white vinegar
- 1/2 cup ice cold water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp castor sugar
For Strawberry Filling
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and cute into 1/2 inch cubes
- 1/4 cup castor sugar
- Juice from 1/2 lemon
Preparation of Strawberry Pie
Crust
- In a dry bowl, take flour, salt and mix briefly
- Add vinegar and butter
- Now using your fingertips, rub butter into the flour until the butter breaks down into pea-sized bits
- You can also use fork or dough cutter to work the butter into the flour
- Now add a tbsp of chilled water at a time and combine until the dough comes together
- If at any point of time the butter starts to melt, refrigerate for 5 minutes, then continue
- Wrap it in a cling film and refrigerate for 15 minutes
- After 15 minstake out the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a 1/2 to 1 cm thick circle
- Lift the rolled out dough using hands, or just lightly wrap it around a rolling pin, unrolling it over the pie pan
- I have used pie pan with detachable base for easy removal
- Press down the dough on the base, firmly
- Press the dough firmly on the sides of the pan
- Cut the excess dough and set aside for further use
- If the dough tears, you can seal it back using a little more dough
- Prick a fork on the base, and refrigerate until ready to use
Strawberry Filling
- Toss all the ingredients together in a bowl
- Set aside until ready to use
Assembly
- Put the strawberry filling into the prepared crust
- Roll out the excess dough and cut designs using cookie cutters
- Wet the cut outs on the base side and stick it on the prepared crust
- Once you’re satisfied with the look, brush milk on the surface of the crust and sprinkle castor sugar on the top
- Bake in a preheated oven @200 C for 15 mins
- Then lower the temperature to @160C and bake again for another 20-25 minutes or until golden from the top
- Unmould the pie and serve warm with ice cream!
